1. Renters Terms and Conditions
1.1 You are renting this item at your own risk, by accepting the terms and conditions when you first registered on the site you are undertaking responsibility to look after and return this item in the condition that it was received in.
1.2 In addition to these terms and conditions, by using this site you are agreeing that in the event that you need to cancel any booking made, that this will be as defined in the Cancellation policy that can be found here.
1.3 You will contact the owner at least a week before the booking date, in order to arrange collection.
1.4 You will inform Bike Box Buddy (email firstname.lastname@example.org) if there are any issues with contacting the owner (Bike Box Buddy pays the owner 48 hours after the booking has started, so you must make us aware of any issues with collection or item condition within this time frame).
1.5 You will make sure you check over the inside and outside of the item and photograph any damage that already exists to the item and make the owner aware of this prior to taking it away.
1.6 You will immediately inform the owner and Bike Box Buddy if any damage occurs to the item while it is in your possession.
1.7 If the box does become damaged while it is in your possession it will be your responsibility to pay for or organise a repair for the box. In the event the airline/carrier loses the box you must include this on any claim with a view to replacing the box with a like for like replacement.
1.8 If parties can not agree on an amount to be deducted from any deposit then a third party at Bike Box Buddy will make a final decision to settle matters. By accepting these terms and conditions, you are agreeing to this decision.
2. Item Owners Terms and Conditions:
2.1 Any rental of items is undertaken at the owner’s responsibility, Bike Box Buddy can not be held responsible for your item. By accepting these terms and conditions, you are agreeing to this decision.
2.2 It is your responsibility as a box owner to ensure the box is available and in full working order for the entire rental period. If your box is unavailable, you must book it out on your calendar for all prospective renters and Bike Box Buddy to see. If your box becomes damaged or unsuitable for hire, you must contact both the renter and Bike Box Buddy immediately so alternative plans may be put into place. You should also advise Bike Box Buddy if you know of another box which may be suitable for hire during the agreed rental period.
2.3 Bike Box Buddy will operate a two strike policy on cancellations made by bike box owners. If you cancel a booking, any PayPal fees will be automatically deducted from your next booking, as Bike Box Buddy will make a full repayment (including fees) to the renter. If you cancel again, your account will be suspended for six months as it is fundamental to the system that bike box owners do not break their rental agreements.
2.4 You will receive your rental fee from Bike Box Buddy 48 hours after the renter has collected from you. This is to allow the renter to inform us of any issues with collection.
2.5 Deposits are held by Bike Box Buddy during the rental period and will be transferred back 48 hours after the rental period has ended. It is your responsibility to report to Bike Box Buddy within 48 hours, of any damage to your equipment.
